What I Use To Set My Foundation - ELF Studio High Definition Powder

In the previous post, I did a MAC Studio Fix Fluid Review, so I thought it is only reasonable if I did this post.

I'm so lazy to touch up on my make up throughout the day, actually it is because I'm just too lazy to bring a makeup pouch along with me.HEHHEH! So I have to make sure that my makeup stays on the entire day!

I was mentioning about the Mac foundation that I really like in the last post and it stays on my face the entire day just that my T-zone gets a little shiny after a long day due to my oily T-zone.

When I first started using the foundation, I did not set it with powder and I realised my T-zone became shiny after 3-4 hours. So I thought maybe I should try setting my makeup to reduce / slow down the shine.

I've tried compact powders, mineral powers, setting pray, and translucent powders. By far, my favourite have to be this!

Previously I was using the Skinfood Peach Sakae Silky Finish Powder

I really like the Peach Sakae powder. It has a light peach scent while applying, leaving a refreshing feeling. This powder wouldn't make your face look cakey after setting it.
What I didn't like about this product is it cost SGD$42! It is so expensive!

I've seen many raves about this ELF HD powder saying that it can be comparable with the one from Makeup Forever.
So I decided to get one myself.
Because I can't find any ELF stores in Singapore then, I got it off the internet. It cost me SGD$11.
It is only a quarter the price of the one from Skinfood!

I really like how they design the product. The net cover over the loose powder is a huge advantage for me!
Because the weather is so stuffy and most of the time I like to on the fan while doing my makeup, with the net cover over the loose powder, it actually prevents the powder from flying all over the place.
I've tried some brands that also have the net cover, but the weird thing is the product is always on top of the cover. Which seems a little weird to me as it defeats the purpose of having that cover over it. Maybe it is for something else I don't know.

I like that the container comes with some depth so all the product will be beneath the cover and I'll just need to pour the amount I need out.

I also love that it is designed to be a square container. It gives a firmer grip while you're in a rush, you won't have to worry that the powder will fall off your hands and dirty the floor.
This may seem really redundant to some of you. But when you're really in a hurry, you'll be as thankful as I am for the square-ish design!(:

The powder is very fine it gives a very soft finish after using it to set the foundation.

Instead of taking my brush and swirling into the product, I prefer pouring some out into the cap and use it. If it is not enough, I'll just pour more out into the cap again. It is a much more hygienic way of applying, at least for me it is!(:

And this is how I like to set my face with..
And the brush that I have been using is...

The Large Powder Brush F30 from Sigma!

Because It is a really large and dense brush, I like that I wouldn't leave like white streaks that will later become patches of foundation on my skin. I also like that it is large so I don't have to spent too much time setting my makeup.

My T-zone gets a little oily during mid day, So I like to pay more attention on my T-zone area. Throughout the day I'll still notice that my T-zone gets a little oily, but it is not as bad as is I didn't set with powder. Even though it gets oily/shiny, the foundation beneath it stays on pretty well, although I have to admit I don't know if it is the primer that I'm using or the setting powder.HEHHEH!

There is one thing I know for sure is that when I set my face with this HD setting powder, my makeup will not smudge or slide or wipe off! which is a super plus for me! Since I don't have to touch it up.

YAY!

So~ that's all for today's post~ Till next post~~BYE!~

xx, meiyi
